Nicole is an accredited nutritionist and dietitian with a passion for helping to improve the health, daily functioning and quality of life of others through a holistic approach to health. Nicole also holds Certificates III and IV in Fitness (with past work as a Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor and Group stretch/Yoga/Pilates instructor).
After completing her Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics through the University of Sydney, Nicole went on to obtain clinical experience in private practice, hospitals, medical centres and Aboriginal health clinics in both Sydney and Coffs Harbour. At the end of 2016, Nicole moved from Sydney to Adelaide and commenced work with the Australian Family Care Group as their in-house nutritionist and also their IT training and support officer.
When it comes to weight management, Nicole takes a non-diet approach that steps away from meal plans. Nicole looks beyond the types and quantities of foods consumed and considers how various environmental, social, physiological and economic factors impact food consumption.
Special interests: the dietary management of Food Intolerances; Coeliac Disease; IBS and the low FODMAP diet; gut health; Paediatrics (working with children, adolescents and their families to establish lifelong healthy habits, overcome fussy eating and manage food intolerances); nutrient deficiencies (eg iron and Vitamin B12 deficiencies); Cardiovascular Disease (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart attack, stroke); Diabetes; Vegetarian Diets; and general healthy eating and lifestyle coaching. In her spare time Nicole loves to swim, run, dance (she did ballet and contemporary dance for ~12 years), practice Yoga and Pilates, cook and listen to music.
